# Terms & conditions

These terms govern your use of carebit.dev, the read-only documentation website for the Carebit Developer Platform.

Last updated: 28 August 2026

## 1. About these terms

carebit.dev is operated by Carebit Health Limited, a company registered in the United Kingdom under company number 09715186. By using this website, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the website.

These terms apply to the documentation website only. Access to the Carebit platform or API may also be governed by a customer agreement, partner agreement, API access terms, or other written agreement with Carebit. If those terms conflict with these terms in relation to a paid service or API access, the specific written agreement takes priority.

## 2. Using the documentation

You may use this website and its code examples to understand, evaluate, and build integrations with the Carebit Developer Platform. You must use the website lawfully and must not:

- attempt to disrupt, overload, or compromise the website;
- bypass access controls or probe systems you are not authorized to access;
- misrepresent your relationship with Carebit or suggest that an integration is approved when it is not; or
- use the documentation or API to infringe another person's rights or breach applicable law.

## 3. No data submission

This is a read-only website and does not provide a way to submit content. Do not place patient information, API credentials, access tokens, or other confidential information in documentation URLs or share them with third-party tools while using the documentation.

## 4. API access and security

The documentation does not itself grant access to the Carebit API. You are responsible for protecting credentials issued to you and for ensuring that your integration complies with its authorized scopes, applicable law, data protection requirements, and any agreement with Carebit.

Examples use placeholder credentials and data. Never copy real patient information or production credentials into examples, support requests, public repositories, or browser-based tools.

## 5. Documentation and availability

We aim to keep the documentation accurate and available, but it may contain errors or become temporarily unavailable. The published API contract, versioning policy, and any written agreement with Carebit determine the supported behavior of the service.

We may update the website, examples, and these terms. We may also withdraw or restrict access where reasonably necessary for security, maintenance, legal compliance, or protection of our services.

## 6. Intellectual property

Carebit and its licensors own the website, documentation, branding, and related intellectual property. You may copy and adapt the published code examples as reasonably necessary to build an integration with Carebit. This permission does not transfer ownership of Carebit's trademarks, documentation, software, or platform.

## 7. Third-party services and links

The website may link to third-party websites or mention third-party libraries. Carebit does not control those services and is not responsible for their content, availability, or privacy practices. You should review their terms before using them.

## 8. No medical advice

This website provides technical documentation. It does not provide medical advice, clinical guidance, or a substitute for professional judgment. You are responsible for validating that your integration is safe and appropriate for its intended healthcare workflow.

## 9. Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful. Subject to that restriction, Carebit is not responsible for losses caused by reliance on an example, an integration you build, unauthorized credential use, or circumstances outside our reasonable control.

## 10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes relating to these terms.

## 11. Contact
